Kalvin Phillips will leave Man City in January to join their Premier League rivals in a £55million move
Arsenal is planning a January transfer for a Premier League midfielder worth €55 million.
Kalvin Phillips, a midfielder for Manchester City, is supposedly a target for Arsenal.
Recently, there have been rumors that Jorginho would leave the team. The Italian international could be sold in January. Phillips has been suggested by Arsenal as a replacement for the 31-year-old midfielder.
The 27-year-old England international, according to a report from Fichajes, has struggled to live up to expectations at Manchester City and may be open to joining Arsenal if the club is willing to guarantee him a spot in the first squad.
At Manchester City, Phillips has struggled to play often, and at this point in his career, he needs to play more frequently. In preparation for the European Championships, which will take place in the summer of 2019, he will try to become a regular starter for England as well.
When he played for Leeds United, the 27-year-old was thought of as one of the best midfielders in the league. He has also played an important role for his country.
He could be able to restore his form and confidence with a move away from Manchester City. At Arsenal, he would be able to catch up with his international midfield partner. At the center of Mikel Arteta’s midfield, Phillips and Declan Rice might make a strong team.
The Gunners’ decision to make a specific offer to sign the player in January is still up in the air.
Manchester City spent almost €55 million to get the Leeds midfielder, and they are aware that he may no longer be able to command that type of price. If Manchester City is willing to let him move for a fair price, it will be interesting to watch.
